Themes & UI Customization

Available Themes

• Light Theme: Clean, bright interface perfect for daytime use
• Dark Theme: Easy on the eyes, great for nighttime or low-light environments
• Blue Theme: Ocean-inspired calming colors
• Green Theme: Nature-themed, refreshing palette
• Pink Theme: Vibrant and fun, energetic colors
• Orange Theme: Warm and energetic, motivating atmosphere

How to Change Theme

1. Look for theme buttons in the header (6 circular icons)
2. Click any theme button to instantly switch
3. Active theme is highlighted with glow effect
4. Theme preference is automatically saved

Density Modes

• Relaxed Mode: Generous spacing, comfortable viewing, better for touch devices
• Compact Mode: Reduced padding, fits ~30% more tasks on screen, maximizes space

Collapsible Sections

• Task Form: Click "Collapse" button to hide/show form
• Analytics Section: Click chevron icon to collapse charts
• Advanced Filters: Click "Advanced Filters" to toggle filter panel

Task Management

Creating Tasks

• Title: Required field, describes the task
• Description: Optional detailed information
• Due Date: Calendar picker for deadline
• Start/End Time: Optional time range for task
• Recurrence: None, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly
• Difficulty: Easy (green), Medium (yellow), Hard (red)
• Importance: Low (1), Medium (2), High (3) - affects priority
• Checkpoints: Break task into sub-tasks (one per line)
• Tags: Multi-select for categorization
• Reminder: 5min, 15min, 30min, 1hr, or 1 day before

Editing Tasks

1. Click on any task card to open edit modal
2. Modify any field as needed
3. Check/uncheck checkpoints to track progress
4. Add new checkpoints using the input field
5. Click "Save Changes" to update

Task Status

• To-Do: Not started yet (left column in Kanban)
• In Progress: Currently working on (middle column)
• Done: Completed (right column)

Moving Tasks

• Drag & Drop: Click and drag task to different column (Kanban view)
• Complete Button: Click to mark as done
• Edit Modal: Change status in task details
• Bulk Actions: Change status of multiple tasks at once

Task Card Features

• Priority Border: Left border color indicates importance (Red=High, Yellow=Medium, Green=Low)
• Progress Bar: Shows checkpoint completion percentage
• Difficulty Badge: Colored pill showing difficulty level
• Due Date: Displays deadline
• Importance Badge: Circular badge with importance number
• Tags: Colored tags with custom colors
• Icons: Visual indicators for difficulty, importance, overdue status

Deleting Tasks

• Soft Delete: Click delete button → moves to trash (can be restored)
• Permanent Delete: From trash modal, click "Delete Forever"
• Clear Completed: Permanently deletes all completed tasks

Archiving Tasks

• Single Archive: Click archive button in task modal
• Archive Completed: Archives all completed tasks at once
• View Archived: Click "Show Archived" to see archived tasks
• Restore: Click restore button in archived tasks modal

View Layouts

Kanban View (Default)

• Three columns: To-Do, In Progress, Done
• Drag and drop tasks between columns
• Visual workflow representation
• Best for: Project management, workflow tracking

List View

• Linear list of all tasks
• Checkboxes for quick completion
• Compact display with metadata
• Click task to edit details
• Best for: Simple to-do lists, quick scanning

Grid View

• Card-based grid layout
• Auto-adjusting columns based on screen size
• Visual overview of all tasks
• Hover effects for interaction
• Best for: Visual organization, overview

Timeline View

• Chronological list sorted by due date
• Visual timeline with connecting line
• Shows full date for each task
• Only shows tasks with due dates
• Best for: Deadline tracking, time management

Calendar View

• Monthly calendar grid
• Tasks displayed on their due dates
• Navigate months with arrow buttons
• Click task to edit
• Today's date highlighted
• Best for: Monthly planning, deadline visualization

Switching Views

1. Find view selector buttons above task area
2. Click desired layout button (Kanban/List/Grid/Timeline)
3. View switches instantly
4. Active view is highlighted
5. Preference is saved automatically

Search & Filtering

Quick Search

• Located in header (search icon)
• Type to search task titles and descriptions
• Real-time filtering as you type
• Case-insensitive search
• Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + F

Sort Options

• Date Added: Low → High or High → Low
• Importance: Low → High or High → Low
• Progress: Low → High or High → Low
• Due Date: Soonest or Farthest

Tag Filter

• Dropdown showing all your tags
• Select "All Tags" to show everything
• Select specific tag to filter
• Only tasks with selected tag are shown

Quick Filter Buttons

• Show All: Display all active tasks
• Show Active: Only To-Do and In Progress tasks
• Show Completed: Only Done tasks

Advanced Filters

Click "Advanced Filters" button to reveal detailed filtering options:

Date Range Filter

• From Date: Show tasks due on or after this date
• To Date: Show tasks due on or before this date
• Use both for specific date range

Status Filter

• Multi-select: To-Do, In Progress, Done
• Hold Ctrl/Cmd to select multiple
• Shows only tasks matching selected statuses

Difficulty Filter

• Multi-select: Easy, Medium, Hard
• Filter by task difficulty level
• Combine with other filters

Importance Filter

• Multi-select: Low (1), Medium (2), High (3)
• Filter by priority level
• Great for focusing on high-priority tasks

Applying Filters

1. Set desired filter criteria
2. Click "Apply Filters" button
3. Tasks are filtered immediately
4. Click "Clear Filters" to reset all

Filter Combinations

All filters work together! Examples:

• High importance + Hard difficulty = Challenging priorities
• Due this week + In Progress = Current focus items
• Work tag + High importance = Critical work tasks

Bulk Actions

Enabling Bulk Select Mode

1. Click "Bulk Select" button in quick actions
2. All task cards show checkboxes
3. Button changes to "Cancel"
4. "Bulk Actions" button appears

Selecting Tasks

• Click on any task card to select/deselect
• Selected tasks show checkmark and highlight
• Select as many tasks as needed
• Selection count shown in bulk actions modal

Available Bulk Actions

• Mark Complete: Sets all selected tasks to Done status
• Archive: Archives all selected tasks
• Change Status: Change status of multiple tasks
• Delete: Moves all selected tasks to trash

Performing Bulk Actions

1. Select desired tasks
2. Click "Bulk Actions" button
3. Choose action from modal
4. Confirm if prompted
5. Action applies to all selected tasks
6. Success notification appears

Exiting Bulk Mode

• Click "Cancel" button
• All selections are cleared
• Checkboxes disappear
• Returns to normal view

Use Cases

• Complete multiple related tasks at once
• Archive old completed tasks
• Delete multiple test/duplicate tasks
• Move project tasks to different status

Tags & Organization

Default Tags

• Work: Professional tasks (Blue)
• Personal: Personal errands (Green)
• Urgent: Time-sensitive items (Red)

Creating Custom Tags

1. Click "Manage Tags" button
2. Enter tag name in text field
3. Click color picker to choose tag color
4. Click "Add Tag" button
5. Tag appears in list immediately
6. Press Enter key as shortcut to add

Deleting Tags

1. Open "Manage Tags" modal
2. Find tag to delete
3. Click X button on tag
4. Confirm deletion
5. Tag removed from all dropdowns

Assigning Tags to Tasks

• In task form, find "Tags" dropdown
• Multi-select: Hold Ctrl/Cmd to select multiple
• Selected tags shown with custom colors
• Tags appear on task card

Tag Colors

• Each tag has custom color
• Colors shown on task cards
• Colors shown in dropdowns
• Easy visual identification
• Choose colors that make sense for you

Tag Organization Strategies

• By Category: Work, Personal, Health, Finance
• By Project: Project A, Project B, Project C
• By Priority: Urgent, Important, Low Priority
• By Context: Home, Office, Errands, Calls
• By Time: Morning, Afternoon, Evening

Tag Persistence

• Tags saved in browser localStorage
• Persist across sessions
• Available on same device/browser
• Export/import to transfer between devices

Smart Reminders

• Automatically detects tasks not touched in 3 days
• Shows notification reminder
• Runs every hour in background
• Helps prevent task neglect

Sentiment Detection

• Analyzes task description for urgency keywords

Analytics Dashboard

• Completion Trend: Line chart showing weekly progress

Statistics

• Total Tasks: Count of all active tasks

Trash System

• Soft Delete: Tasks moved to trash, not deleted
• View Trash: Click "Trash" button
• Restore: Bring tasks back from trash

Error Validation
